The Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 is a powerful Campbeltown single malt whisky from the Glengyle Distillery. Bottled at cask strength (58.4% ABV) and matured in 90% ex-bourbon and 10% ex-sherry casks, this release combines deep peat smoke, maritime salinity and a rich malty sweetness. Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, it captures the authentic Campbeltown character in every sip.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Creamy and rich, opening with butterscotch, caramel and toasted malt, followed by rye bread and herbal tea notes.
- Palate: Full-bodied and oily, with intense peat smoke wrapped in layers of honey, vanilla and savoury touches of Iberico ham and brandy snaps.
- Finish: Long and smoky with bright notes of lemon sherbet, honeycomb and mint that linger gracefully.
