Worthy Park distillery
Worthy Park Distillery, located in Jamaica’s Lluidas Vale, has a history dating back to 1720. The estate began rum production in 1741, making it one of the oldest distilleries in Jamaica. The modern distillery, established in 2005, continues traditional Jamaican rum-making methods. They use 100% copper pot stills, ensuring the rum’s rich, full-bodied flavor.
The estate grows its own sugarcane, processed in its highly efficient on-site sugar factory. This molasses forms the basis of Worthy Park’s rum. They employ native yeast cultivated from their sugarcane, enhancing the rum’s unique characteristics. Worthy Park’s range includes the flagship Rum-Bar line and special cask series aged in ex-bourbon, port, and madeira casks.
Visitors to Worthy Park can explore the distillery and sugarcane fields through guided tours. These tours provide insights into the rum-making process and offer tastings of their exquisite rums. The estate’s commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in both their rum and sugar production.
