W & J Graham's

W & J Graham’s, founded by brothers William and John Graham in 1820, produces some of the finest port wines. The company began when they accepted 27 barrels of port to settle a debt, inspiring them to focus on exceptional port wines from the Douro Valley. Over the years, Graham’s has built a stellar reputation for quality and innovation.

Graham’s sources grapes from four key estates in the Douro Valley: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta da Vila Velha, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. These vineyards are the foundation for Graham’s acclaimed Vintage Ports and Single Harvest Tawny Ports. They use traditional methods like foot-treading grapes in stone lagares and modern techniques to ensure top quality.

The Symington family acquired the company in 1970 and continued its legacy of excellence. Under their leadership, Graham’s has produced celebrated ports like the 1970 Vintage Port and the Ne Oublie Tawny Port, dating back to 1882. Visitors can explore the Graham’s Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. Guided tours and tastings offer insights into the extensive cellars aging some of the world’s finest ports.
