Fettercairn Distillery

Founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, Fettercairn Distillery is located at the foothills of Scotland’s Grampian Mountains. Known for its distinctive tropical single malt whiskies, Fettercairn employs a unique cooling ring system. This system sprays cold water down the stills’ sides, aiding reflux and creating a lighter spirit. The distillery uses water from nearby mountain springs, ensuring a consistent and pure source for whisky production.

Fettercairn’s core range includes the 12, 16, 22, and 24 Year Old expressions. These whiskies are matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, with some older expressions finished in fortified wine casks. The 12 Year Old, for example, features notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, and spice. Visitors to Fettercairn can explore its rich history and innovative distillation process, gaining insight into its renowned craftsmanship.
