Dalwhinnie Distillery
Founded in 1897 by the Strathspey Distillery Company, Dalwhinnie Distillery is located in the Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Known for its smooth, gentle single malts, Dalwhinnie uses water from the Allt an t’Sluic spring. This pure water source contributes to the whisky’s fresh, clean character. Standing at 1164 feet, Dalwhinnie is one of the highest distilleries in Scotland. The name “Dalwhinnie” means “meeting place” in Gaelic, reflecting its central location where ancient routes converged.
Dalwhinnie’s 15 Year Old single malt is its signature expression. This whisky offers smooth flavors of heather honey, citrus, vanilla, and a touch of peat smoke. The distillery uses traditional wooden worm tubs to cool the spirit, maintaining its distinctive character. Visitors can enjoy guided tours and tastings, exploring the unique features of this Highland distillery.
