Clynelish Distillery

Founded in 1819 by the Duke of Sutherland, Clynelish Distillery is located in Brora, on the northeastern coast of Scotland. Known for its rich, waxy single malt whiskies, Clynelish has become an essential component in Johnnie Walker blends, particularly the Gold Label Reserve. The distillery sources its water from the mineral-rich Clynemilton Burn, which adds to the whisky’s distinctive character.

Clynelish’s core expression is the 14 Year Old single malt, featuring a complex mix of honey, vanilla, citrus aromas, and subtle smoky notes. The distillery uses six pot stills and employs a unique distillation process that includes long fermentation times, resulting in tropical, fruity aromas in the whisky. Visitors to Clynelish can enjoy guided tours and tastings, exploring the rich history and production techniques of this renowned Highland distillery.
