Blair Athol Distillery
Founded in 1798, Blair Athol Distillery is in Pitlochry, Perthshire. It sources water from the Allt Dour Burn, enhancing its whisky’s mellow quality. Known for robust Highland single malts, Blair Athol produces a 12-year-old single malt in Diageo’s Flora & Fauna range. This whisky has rich sherry sweetness and complex flavors with dried fruit and spices.
Blair Athol’s whisky plays a significant role in Bell’s blended Scotch. The distillery produces about 2.5 million liters annually, using four pot stills. The unique pear-shaped stills contribute to its deep malt-loaf character.
Visitors can tour Blair Athol to explore its traditional whisky-making process, from malting floors to washbacks and stills.
