Benrinnes Distillery

Peter MacKenzie founded Benrinnes Distillery in 1826 in Aberlour, Speyside. The distillery relocated and rebuilt in 1835 after a flood destroyed it in 1829. Known for its robust single malts, Benrinnes used a unique partial triple distillation process until 2007, which contributed to its distinct character. Now, the distillery employs traditional double distillation.

Benrinnes produces about 2.5 million liters of whisky annually. Much of this goes into blends like Johnnie Walker and J&B. However, Benrinnes also offers single malts, such as the 15-year-old Flora & Fauna edition. This edition is known for its rich and complex flavors. The distillery’s use of six stills and worm tub condensers enhances the depth of its spirit.

Owned by Diageo, Benrinnes continues to craft high-quality whisky, reflecting the resilience and craftsmanship of Speyside.
