Benriach Distillery

Founded in 1898, Benriach Distillery is nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Renowned for its innovative approach to whisky making, Benriach combines traditional methods with creative techniques to produce a range of distinctive single malts. The distillery employs a mix of unpeated, peated, and triple-distilled malts, allowing for a diverse array of flavors. Using water from the Burnside Springs, Benriach creates whiskies known for their complexity and richness.

Benriach’s core range includes the Benriach 10 Year Old, which offers notes of honey, fruit, and subtle spice, and the Smoky 12, known for its rich peat and sweet undertones. The distillery also experiments with various cask maturations, including bourbon, sherry, and virgin oak, to enhance the depth and character of its whiskies. This innovative cask management adds layers of flavor and complexity, making each bottle a unique experience.

Despite facing several closures and ownership changes, Benriach has thrived under the guidance of Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie. The distillery’s resilience and commitment to quality have earned it a place among the top producers of single malt Scotch whisky. Visitors to Benriach can explore the distillery’s rich history and see the traditional malting floors, fermentation rooms, and dunnage warehouses.
