Aultmore Distillery
Founded in 1897, Aultmore Distillery is nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Known for its production of high-quality single malt Scotch whisky, Aultmore utilizes clear wort and long fermentation to create a spirit that is light, fruity, and fragrant. The distillery’s slow distillation process maximizes reflux, producing a whisky that is both aromatic and substantial on the palate.
Aultmore’s core range includes the 12 Year Old, known for its notes of crisp apples and delicate florals; the 18 Year Old, featuring baked apples and spices; and the 21 Year Old, offering complex flavors of ground coffee and poached pears. The distillery’s non-peated malt and water sourced from the Auchinderran Burn contribute to its distinctive character.
Originally built to supply malt for blends, Aultmore now stands out with its official single malt releases. Since 1998, it has been part of Bacardi’s portfolio under the management of John Dewar & Sons. Although Aultmore is not open to the public for tours, its whiskies remain widely appreciated and accessible.
