Springbank’s Fino 2025 is the forth release in their ongoing Sherry-Series: distilled in 2015, matured 4 years in refill bourbon hogsheads, then finished for 6 years in fresh Fino-sherry hogsheads, before bottling at cask strength 55 % ABV.

This expression brings together Springbank’s classic Campbeltown coastal spirit — lightly peated, oily and maritime — with the dry, elegant, nutty-sherry character of Fino maturation. Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, it’s a whisky for those who appreciate both tradition and sherry-cask sophistication.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Blood orange zest and citrus peel gives the first impression, followed by vanilla custard, tinned orchard fruits, and a delicate hint of sea breeze and coastal minerality.
• Palate: At the front, expect cinnamon-sugar sweetness, fresh mint, praline and morello cherries — layered with lemon curd adding a gentle citrus-cream balance.
• Finish: The finish is lively and slightly tart/dry: think key-lime highlights, cola-sweetness and maple-syrup echoes, balanced by a subtle coastal salinity and mellow oak dryness.

Overall Character:

Springbank Fino 2025 manages to be a sherry-cask matured whisky that retains the house’s coastal/maritime signature. It’s dry yet fruity, sweet yet mineral — elegant and refined in its sherry treatment, but still grounded in the distinctive Campbeltown soul of Springbank.
