Founded in 1974, Auchroisk Distillery is a prominent name in Speyside whisky production. Justerini & Brooks built the distillery to supply malt whisky for their J&B blends. Known for its modernist architecture, Auchroisk produces a distinctive spirit. Rapid mashing and quick fermentation create a heavy character in the new make spirit. This character mellows with maturation, developing a balanced, honeyed cereal sweetness.
Auchroisk pioneered sherry cask finishing, which enhances its whisky’s complexity. Initially sold under the Singleton brand, it now releases whiskies under its own name and in Diageo’s Flora and Fauna range. With eight lantern-headed pot stills, Auchroisk produces about 3.4 million liters of pure alcohol per year. Its warehousing facilities can hold up to 265,000 casks, ensuring a robust production capacity.
