Using 100% Irish barley, celebrated as the world’s finest, our Single Farm Origin series offers an uber-provenance range of limited edition natural whiskies. These whiskies delve into Irish terroir, exploring one farm and one place at a time. They present unique barley flavors from specific Irish farms and harvests, embodying both precision and rarity.

The historic Brownes’ 18th Century farmhouse at Broomlands stands proudly just north of Monart Spa and south of Castle Ellis Church. It commands a view over the Urrin river valley in the southeastern corner of Ireland. Furthermore, flanked by the Atlantic coast to the south and the Irish Sea to the east, this location features a foundation of Ordovician shale and mica. The Clonroche soil, rich in clay and moisture-retentive, contributes to a highly productive terroir.

Back in 1855, the Dublin Daily Express lauded Broomlands as ‘a highly productive and beautifully situated farm.’ Additionally, a notable recent family member was John Browne (d. 2005), who spent seven years as a radio officer in the Merchant Navy. Later, he explored the jungles of South America and traveled extensively in the Sahara, Egypt, China, and India.

Head Distiller’s Observations

• Appearance: Apricot colour with legs that roll to the tune of B.B. King’s 3 O’Clock Blues.
• Nose: Malty biscuits, floral, blood orange, milk chocolate, green grapes, raspberry jam, grapefruit and a hay barn – but not after it’s been freshly cut.
• Taste: BANG – spice and clove heat but it lingers and mellows as if to wrap you in your comfort blanket.
• Finish: Malt and a dryness that goes on. A spice tingle that makes you close your eyes and lick your lips.
