About Kilkerran
Kilkerran is the single malt whisky produced at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, on Scotland’s Kintyre Peninsula. Founded in 1872, the distillery reopened in 2004 after a long period of closure. Kilkerran is recognised for its traditional approach to whisky production and its distinctive Campbeltown character.
About this bottling
Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 is a limited small-batch release from the Heavily Peated series. Unlike Kilkerran’s typically lightly peated whiskies, this expression showcases a distinctly pronounced peat-smoke character. The whisky is a combination of 90% matured in ex-bourbon casks and 10% matured in ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.9% ABV.

Tasting Notes
- Nose: Fresh citrus aromas, with notes of lemon and key lime pie. Toasted rye bread and pronounced peat smoke complete the aromatic profile.
- Palate: Full-bodied and intense, with toasted marshmallows and the warm, smoky character of glowing campfire embers. Vanilla and creamy custard provide a sweeter counterpoint to the powerful smoke.
- Finish: The peat smoke remains prominent, accompanied by a mineral note that brings the finish together.
