In the idyllic Zenne Valley, located on the border with the picturesque Pajottenland in Belgium, the story of Box Bizar begins, an innovative concept deeply rooted in the world of spirits. Box Bizar, housed in the charming church of the hamlet of Ten Broek, is not just a company. It’s a vision. A vision that started in 2019 with the purchase of the historic church, after a demanding buying process that lasted for more than a year.
A look at Box Bizar reveals an unexpected world. Here, five different aspects of the spirits industry have found each other, intertwined in harmonious balance. A shop offers the public a carefully selected assortment of spirits. A tasting room invites the tasting and enjoyment of the subtle nuances of each product. The tasting club brings together like-minded individuals to learn and share experiences. The independent bottlings reveal unique and rare editions. Lastly, the crowning achievement, the micro-distillery, a sanctuary where craftsmanship and innovation come together to create exceptional spirits.
The realization of Box Bizar was, however, not an easy task. In the early stages, progress was hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, making it a challenge to find contractors and construction workers. During 4 long years the Box Bizar team had to carry out various unforeseen works themselves. But against all odds, the project reached a critical milestone in the autumn of 2024: the completion of the renovation of the church into a home. This formed the starting point for the development of the heart of Box Bizar.
